Vellamo apron at Lapland Hotels
The Vellamo apron, which we launched in April, has traveled to Helsinki Boulevard for trial use at Lapland Hotels. The apron is circular economy at it's best as the fabric is 200% recycled and is made from old Pure Waste products. Neing used for a while the apron has received praise from Lapland Hotels employees, especially for its appearance, the pleasant feel of the material and, of course, its responsibility. Vellamo continues to gather valuable experience in the atmosphere of Lapland. And for repeat here's Vellamo's responsible journey from cutting waste to aprons:
1. Cutting waste from textile production has been collected and defibered into new fiber, yarn and eventually fabric
2. The garment made of fabric has been used by Pure Waste's customer for several years
3. The garment has served its wearer faithfully and was eventually collected and mechanically recycled into new recycled fiber
4. The recycled fiber was spun into yarn to make a new fabric
5. A Vellamo apron was made from this fabric, which will be passed on to its next happy user!
