UN Global Compact Network
Touchpoint is one of the very few workwear member companies of the UN Global Compact's Finland network. Yesterday, we attended the association's spring seminar where we heard about how the UN's Sustainable Development Goals are being achieved in member companies. The event also featured the unveiling of a survey that reveals the extent to which the services or products produced by the 192 member companies of the business responsibility network contribute to or hinder the achievement of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.
The survey, conducted by Upright, provides a "class portrait" that reveals while we achieve many positive impacts together, we have significant potential to promote all 17 Sustainable Development Goals and minimize adverse effects. In relation to the UN's Agenda 2030 for sustainable development, there is much work to be done as currently:
- Only about 30% of countries will achieve the goals of poverty eradication
- We are approximately 300 years behind in terms of gender equality
- The wealth of the world's 26 richest individuals is equivalent to that of the poorer half of the planet
If you want to positively impact the Sustainable Development Goals, such as Goal 12 (Responsible production and consumption) and Goal 13 (Climate action), through your workwear purchases, feel free to contact the Touchpoint team!
