SOL’s new, ecological workwear contains 345 000 recycled plastic bottles
SOL-Services’ nearly 10 000 employees will be wearing ecological workwear.
The company’s Finnish personnel will work in clothes made from sustainable materials, which have been produced using 345 000 recycled plastic bottles. The workwear is designed and manufactured by Finnish workwear company Touchpoint Oy.
Sustainability was an important criterion for SOL when choosing a partner and materials for the collection.
“We are constantly thinking about how we could be more ecological and ethical. We are the first company in the cleaning industry to receive the “Joutsen”-mark in hotel cleaning, so it’s natural that we focus on sustainability when choosing our workwear as well”, says SOL Services Development Director, Riitta Sirviö.
The number of plastic bottles used in each garment is visible in the label tag
SOL also wants to communicate the ecological aspect of its workwear outwards, which is why all of the new garments will have the slogan “Sustainable choice by SOL” written in the back. The label inside the garment will have information about the number of plastic bottles used in each product.
The upcoming collection will include 11 different pieces of clothing, with the idea of “mix and match” in mind. The different pieces for the collection will come to use gradually.
“As the forerunner in its industry, SOL has made an impressive choice. It has been wonderful to design a collection for them that is the highest quality both in terms of functionality and durability, and which adapts to the different tasks of SOL’s 10 000 employees”, says the CEO of TouchPoint, Outi Luukko
